    Inspirational Woodturning Sites

The Internet is a fantastic source of inspiration for those days when your imagination is taking a day off. I don't advocate copying another maker's work, but what I do advocate is seeking inspiration from the work of other turners. All the tuners sites listed here offer something bound to inspire. The list is far from exhaustive and certainly not exclusive of other turners, these are simply the first of a long list of turners whose work never fails to inspire me and fill me with that "I've got to get into the workshop!" feeling. Some you may already know of, and others may be new to you, but whichever it is, these sites are all worth re-visiting over and over again.

http://www.julieheryet-woodturner.co.uk  A British tuner of exceptional talent.

    http://www.bobchapman.co.uk/ Another exceptional British turner.

http://www.ronkent.com/ Ron Kent is an amazing turner living in Hawaii. Talent and constant sun! How is that fair?

http://artbowl.com/page1.htm Gary Stevens from California must surely be one of America's finest turners.

http://www.alstirt.com/  One of the World's finest turners and a great website.

http://www.don-white-woodturning.co.uk/  If you want classic, understated excellence you can't do better than look here.

Gordon Dunphy from Canada offers a stunning selection of his work.

http://www.jimmyclewes.com The inimitable Mr Clewes offers only a small selection of his work for us to view...but then as he's always off somewhere demonstrating he probably doesn't have the time to upload much more!

http://www.rollymunro.co.nz/ Everyone knows this Guy's name...but have you seen his work?

http://jackdevos.com/ Jack Devos from Western Australia seems an unfamiliar name. Why I don't know, because he work is truly awe inspiring.

http://www.siragas.gr/ Nikos Siragas from Greece. Another of the Worlds favourite turners. It's easy to see why.

http://www.enter.net/~ultradad/   Bill Grumbine from the USA. An unusual site but one well worth a visit. I just wish he'd update it so we could see what he's up to at the moment!

http://www.members.shaw.ca/jbarley/   James Barley  from Vancouver Island. Another world class turner offers up his work.

Christian Burchard  There must be something in the water of Vancouver Island! How can they have two turners with such world class talent and imagination.

The problem with these lists is that you can never complete them, you always remember "one more site" that simply has to be there...how on earth I managed to omit this site I will never know. I can't imagine a single woodturner not knowing the name, Tony Boase. We have all marveled at his pure forms, and marveled to a greater degree, almost, at the quality of his photography which brings each piece closer to us than perhaps any other photographer of woodturned items has managed to achieve. I would bet that there are more turners out there who wished that they has known him than actually did know him...and it seems he knew plenty! Now  enjoy the tribute gallery.
